Wishing You Brighter Days
by Candice Crawford

Hello crafty friends, Candice here, sharing with you another design team project showcasing products from our Spring release.                                    Today’s card is bright and cheerful with a playful Spring theme full of colorful umbrellas.

To make this card, you will need the new Raining Frame Die set, along with the Whittle Cloud Border die and the Birch Press Designs Blooming Spring stamp set. You will also need card stock scraps in the colors blue, yellow, orange, green, light pink, white and fuchsia.

Begin by die cutting the cloud borders from a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of white card stock.

Next take your yellow, orange, green, light pink and fuchsia card stock and die cut the umbrella from the Raining Frame Die set with each color. No need to use your larger pieces of colored card stock; small scraps will work the best for to die cutting the tiny umbrellas.

Next, die cut the raining background from a piece of a piece of blue card stock. The Raining Frame die creates the perfect 4.0 x 5.25 inch background layer for the card. Assemble the card by first adhering the Raining background layer to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch white card base using adhesive of choice. I prefer liquid adhesive.

Next add your stitched cloud borders to both the top and bottom of the raining background layer. Then paper piece the light pink umbrella directly into the umbrella opening of the raining background layer with some liquid adhesive.

Now add the remaining umbrellas to the card with 3M foam tape arranging them in a staggering design around the light pink umbrella.Finish the card by stamping the sentiment “wishing you brighter days” in VersaFine Black Onyx ink using a combination of sentiments from the Birch Press Blooming Spring stamp set.

Today’s card is full of color and dimension and came together rather quickly. I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and will try this design out for yourself.

Thank you for joining me today. Until next time…stay safe and happy crafting!

  1. Nice! I love that die, but it hadn’t occurred to me to keep cutting out the umbrella part and stack them all over – thanks for the idea!

  2. Love your card. Looked at this die a lot but your version is so fun. Thanks for sharing.
