Nordic Valley Bird Birthday!

Hi Crafty Friends, it’s Rachel here to share a happy birthday bird card. I used the Poppystamps Nordic Valley Bird and the Nordic Birdhouse. It’s a mix of vintage and shiny new. How fun is that?! And there are so many possibilities with these dies. They can be used year round, just change the bird and the color scheme!

To create this card, I die cut the Nordic Birdhouse using woodgrain paper listed in the supplies below. I blended patina and brown in oxide ink. I die cut the ribbon in mirrored pastel blue. The trim on the house is pearlized light blue paper.

I prepared an A2 Lime cardbase. Next I die cut the burnt red paper from the blush paper pack and I die cut the inside portion in Cilantro. I glued it all down.

Then I die cut the Nordic Valley Bird in a heavy white cardstock. I blended oxide inks in a peachy red, brown and metallic silver white paint. I painted it about ten times to get it right. Tip–let it dry between coats and there will be no pilling. I adhered the bird together and glued it to the house with his head right in the center.

Finally I die cut the Happy Birthday Tender Script in the same mirrored blue paper I used for the bow. The sentiment background is the Lime cardstock I used for the base.
