Winter Fun with the Holiday Cheer Penguins

Hello Friends! Are you having fun with the new Holiday Cheer dies yet? The adorable penguins are perfect for creating winter cards all season long. I’m sharing a slimline card featuring the sweet Santa Penguin, Coffee Penguin and the fun Winter Sled.

I decided to make a slimline card because I wanted plenty of space to build a large forest scene using the new Trimmed Trees dies. I started by ink blending a deep blue winter sky, then die cutting lots of the trees using the Memory Box Cilantro cardstock along with some white glitter paper from my stash for a snowy, sparkling effect. I also used the white paper to make some snowdrifts.

The Winter Sled is so simple to assemble with only two die cut pieces. I used white woodgrain paper and colored it brown for a classic look.. 

Both penguins are die cut from Memory Box Black Glossy Cardstock, The adorable Coffee Penguin includes several accessory options—a heart, gift, or a coffee cup. I chose to have him carrying a little gift on the sled. I used red glitter cardstock and added some fur to the Santa Penguin hat for an extra festive touch.

I used some twine from my stash to create a little rope for the Santa Penguin to pull his friend on the sled through the forest.
