Santa Penguin at the Tree Farm
by Carol McFarland

Welcome back to the blog. I made a card with our 2797 Santa Penguin who paid a visit to the tree farm and found the perfect one! Its 2788 Country Pickup has lots of room for a tree, some pumpkins, and penguin friends to have a fun day! Let’s take a closer look.

I started by die cutting and putting together Santa Penguin. Isn’t he the cutest? It’s made of just a few die cuts and with or without the cute little hat, he can be the star of any card you make with him. Here he is holding one of the 2794 Trimmed Trees that is just his size! You will also notice one of the pretty 2764 Fine Eyelet Frames that I die cut to have a background for the scene. See all the details in it? I watercolored some light blue and grey distress inks on it first for the road and the sky. Then I added the adorable truck and Christmas greeting.

Here is a closeup of the truck details. The lines in the tailgate, the bumper, the tail lights, the truck bed and the window all make it so realistic. I added vellum to the window and used silver card stock for the bumper, rings around the tail lights and side mirrors to look like chrome.

I added the 2806 Merry Christmas Fluffy Script sentiment with that great star on the letter”i” as you can see. It adds that festive holiday look, doesn’t it? I love the sturdy card stock too from Poppystamps. I have listed the colors I used in the supplies list below.
Are you making Christmas cards yet? It will be here before you know it! I need to keep making them too! I’ve got more ideas to share in the near future! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create some Christmas cheer for 2026!
