Blog Blitz Begins – Butterfly Symphony
by Jeanne Jachna

Hello friends!   It’s my favorite time!  New release time!  We’re so excited about our new Spring Release that we’re celebrating with a blog blitz!  What’s a blog blitz?  It’s a time we set aside to show you projects made with the new release and give you a chance to win some for yourself!   Today I’m sharing a card made with the new Butterfly Symphony die.

This beautiful die features a die cut swirl of pretty butterflies in different sizes! It’s the perfect size for an A2 card.

I started by die cutting the Butterfly Symphony from a white card stock panel.  Next I inked the die cut ribbon swirl with ombre yellow/orange Copic Markers.   I used Y15, Y17 and YR04.

To completely ink up to the edges you can slide a piece of scrap paper between the die cut lines. I recommend something heavier than a sticky note, but wanted to use a colored slip of paper so you could see how it slides between the die cuts easily.

To assemble the card I trimmed a dark aqua piece of card stock slightly smaller than my card base.  I die cut the largest Double Stitch Rectangle Frame from a light aqua and adhered it to the card base.  I trimmed a piece of gold glitter paper to fit inside the die cut frame opening.   Next I cut the Butterfly Symphony Panel with the Double Stitch Rectangle Frame so it fits perfectly over the opening.

Finally I die cut the butterflies in ombre shades of aqua card stock.  I chose aqua because I wanted it to contrast with the yellow/orange colored ribbon.

I applied adhesive only to the center of the butterflies and bent them so you can see the gold glitter card stock underneath.  What a fun surprise!
