Feathertree Frame Thanks
by Jeanne Jachna

2I'm starting to see the first signs of  Fall!  The local  farm stands are reopening to sell pumpkins, corn stalks, indian corn and chrysanthemums!   I hate to see an end to summer, but I'm always delighted with the change of foliage in the fall!  What a spectacular show Mother Nature puts on!

I made a card using the Feathertree Frame.  I knew I was going to inlay lots of different colors into the openings of the trees and was concerned about the large die loosing shape.  To keep the die cut frame from stretching or adhering crooked to the card base,  I started by adding the larger background pieces and securing them in place on the reverse side of the die  with some washi before adhering the panel to my card base.  It helped keep this large die cut in shape so there weren't any big gaps around the inlaid pieces.

The "Give Thanks Brushed" sentiment die is perfect for this clean card design.   I love that the inlay design is nice and flat – no extra postage required.  And all the color in the tree branches is just candy for the eyes!

Have a beautiful day!

  1. A great card Jenna love all the colours and your tips to help keep it square too. I guess it would look just as good and very different with other coloured insets and would make a fab retirement card with autumnal colours or a birthday card for a man if done in greens,

  2. Hi Jeanne, I’m loving all the different inlays on your feathertrees, such patience you have, this must have taken you ages to insert all the different pieces. The outcome is gorgeous.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  3. This is a color masterpiece, Jeanne. Not only do I love the many colors in your trees (you must have a few leftovers from that session), but I love the golden background in three shades.
Thanks for the tips about “truing” the ephemeral tree shapes. I’ve not dealt with a die like that yet, but that tip will stay firmly planted in my head for the day I need it.

  4. I so agree with you about hating to see the end of Summer but love the Autumn Colours. Your Card is stunning and I love all the colours.
