Merry Christmas Nordic Bird!

Hi it’s Rachel and I’m here sharing a Christmas card featuring the Poppystamps Nordic Valley Bird and Nordic Birdhouse. I absolutely love these dies and am having a wonderful time creating with them. A blend of glitter, foil and textured papers add so much drama to the design.
I began my card die cutting the Nordic Valley Bird in white and then ink blending browns and coral distress and oxide inks.I used a dark brown for the middle layer of the wing and beak. I colored the eye with a black alcohol marker. I glued the bird together and set it aside.
Next I die cut the Nordic Birdhouse out of the cream woodgrain paper (listed below). I blended brown distress oxide ink unevenly on the birdhouse to make it look natural. The trim, cut from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad, can be viewed as snow as well as just the decorative trim.
The ribbon is red glitter paper and the bell is gold mirrored paper. Don’t you just love the sparkle?! I glued the pieces together. I almost forgot to mention that the opening to the birdhouse is blended with alot of brown ink and glued to the house.
Then I die cut the largest Scalloped Pinpoint Frame two times. The outside is Raspberry Sorbet sheet cardstock and the inside background is from the Blush paper pack. I adhered the frame and background to a white cardbase. I adhered the birdhouse and bird to the cardfront. I popped up the bird with dimensionals.
Finally I die cut the sentiment, Merry Christmas Fluffy Script, in the same red glitter paper as the ribbon. I die cut the sentiment base in a light creme. I adhered it to the lower right corner and the card is all done!
If this card looks familiar, it is because I made it awhile back using a completely different color scheme, more distressed and for a birthday instead of Christmas.I love the versatility these dies bring. Please check out the Poppystamps dies, they are the best!
