Nordic Valley Bird Christmas

Are you anywhere near being ready for Christmas? If you’re anything like me, getting ahead on our Christmas cards is always a good idea. This pretty card could actually be used year-round for many different occasions. I used cream and kraft Cardstock for the base of this card. Using the largest oval found in the Scalloped Pinpoint Oval Dies, I cut the top layer of cream cardstock to create my focal space. There are six different sizes of ovals in the Scalloped Pinpoint Oval Dies, and they really give you a lovely space to showcase your images.
That delightful little bird is the Nordic Valley Bird, and it was so easy to piece together. I rubbed some Saltwater Taffy Oxide Ink to the underbody and beak of the Nordic Valley Bird. Since I don’t own a bird’s nest, I decided that I’d make one (or try anyway…lol). I used the Trimmed Trees Dies and the same colors of Cardstock that I’d used on the bird to cut several branches. I simply placed these branches at the bottom of my card to create my “nest”. I also tucked in a few foliage cuts that can be found in the Lovely Floral Bundle. My theory is that you can always use what you’ve got to create what you haven’t got. Just be creative! Poppystamps makes it easy and fun.
The Merry Christmas Foil Greeting Tag is from our sister company, Memory Box. To give my card its finishing touch, I sprayed the card with Vintage Photo Distress Spritz. This helps to fill in any blank space you might have while still allowing your die-cut images to be the focal star of your card.
