Scandinavian Charm with Nordic Waving Fox
By Jyoti Adhikari

There’s something so cheerful about combining adorable die cuts with colorful pattern papers, and this card was such a fun one to create! For my main focus, I featured the Poppystamps Nordic Waving Fox die set, turned into an adorable little kitty dressed in a bright teal outfit. By selecting just a few fun colors and this versatile die becomes even more fun to use.

Building the Focal Image

The star of the card is the adorable Nordic Waving Fox die, customized into a sweet little cat by using soft pink and gray cardstock for the body and adding simple black stripes. I dressed the kitty in a bright teal outfit with yellow accents to coordinate with the papers.

Creating the Background

Instead of a plain cardstock background, I mixed several patterned papers from different 6×6 paper packs from my stash. The navy patterned paper creates a bold backdrop while the yellow polka dots brighten the design and add a cheerful touch.

A layered fishtail banner made from coordinating pink floral papers helps draw the eye upward and creates the perfect place for the sentiment.

Adding Floral Details

To soften the design, I tucked clusters of layered flowers and leafy sprigs around the kitty. The navy and lavender flowers echo the colors in the background while creating a nice visual balance across the card.

A few tiny yellow heart embellishments repeat the yellow tones from the patterned paper and add playful finishing touches.

Finishing the Card

For the sentiment, I stamped a simple birthday greeting onto a large white oval. The clean white shape gives the eye a place to rest while standing out beautifully against the darker background.

Everything is layered onto a white A2 card base, creating a bright frame that ties all of the colorful elements together.
