Birthday Wishes
by Lisa Elton

With the hot and humid temps we’ve been having, I was in the mood for a light and airy card. Butterflies seemed a good fit with a few simple elements added along with them.

To my white A2 panel, I added a Scalloped Pinpoint Frame that was left over from a previous birthday card. The frame was cut from polka dot vellum. Those little polka dots provided the perfect spot to hide the dots of liquid glue. A strip of confetti paper from our Birthday Fun 6×6 paper pad was tucked under and over the frame. I like the touch of sparkle it adds!

A simple sentiment from the Balloon Celebrations stamps set went into the frame. And finally, the butterflies! Mine were created using the Nordic Butterfly Trio die set, vellum and some of our Deep Turquoise cardstock. I added a Fairy Jewel to the center of the butterflies with the vellum on top. This hides my little dot of glue that holds the layers of the butterflies together.

Easy, breezy and come to think of it, this works as a reminder for our latest challenge… Things With Wings. Hey, maybe I’ve helped inspire you to play along! I hope so. If so, don’t forget to add it to our challenge gallery!

  1. This is definitely wonderfully light and airy. I love those wonderful butterflies, and the colors are wonderful. That strip of papers well chosen and I love the way you placed it in/on the frame. Lovely creation, Lisa.
