Challenge Reminder: Things With Wings

Hello! It’s Carol here with a card and reminder for our Poppystamps Challenge PSC#140 Things With Wings! I created a Z-fold card using pretty butterflies and a beautiful new frame die.

I started my card by watercoloring on watercolor paper with distress inks in the colors I wanted to make my butterflies. Then I die cutting several of the 2767 Nordic Cheery Butterflies from the watercolored paper to mix and match the different sections of each butterfly. There are two sizes of butterflies and each one has four sections to it, plus the body/antennae. They fit together so easily for layering. I included an ethereal touch to some of the butterflies by adding vellum for some of the wings.

Here is a look at the card opened up. You can see the beautiful and versatile 2757 Diamond Oval Pinpoint background die I used over my card base to add texture and pattern. I used blue card stock to die cut one of the smaller new 2764 Fine Eyelet Frames as a base for my fluttering butterflies. I added them to the front of the blue frame die cut with liquid glue. I think the blue really showcases the orange and coral butterflies well.

Here is a closer look at the Z-fold card base and the details in the background die as well as the butterflies. I die cut a second blue frame to back the front one for a nice finished look inside the card.

A very close up view of the dies on this card shows all the gorgeous detail in them and the addition of the vellum. I used silver card stock for the butterfly bodies and antennae to “dress up” the look of them.

I wanted to show the die sets that I used right beside the card to put the products into perspective. My Things With Wings card was not a difficult one to make.
