Heartfelt Thanks Card
by Carol McFarland

Hello there! I have a happy hearts and flowers thank you card for you using a new die set called Nordic Scatter Flowers along with other favorites, the Heartfelt Pinpoint Frame and Thank You Tender Script dies. I think the frame can look like a garden trellis and used it that way for the flowers to “grow” along the edge. Here’s a look at my card.

You can see the pretty details in the Heartfelt Pinpoint Frame die and the Nordic Scatter Flowers. I cut down the frame die to be narrower than 4 1/4″ wide for this card layout. Also, it might look like I had to die cut a lot, but the flowers I used, and their centers, are all on one connected die. After just a few passes through my die cutting machine I had enough flowers to cover the length of the card vertically and “scatter” the flowers along the edge randomly.

Here is another view of the detail in the dies. The flowers are distinctive in their patterns that make them Nordic in style. Even the centers have spots and lines on them to mix and match like I did here. I also like this Thank You die and how the words look dimensional.

I chose to ink blend the color on the flower centers instead of die cutting orange, aqua and purple card stock, which is also a method for adding color. I tend to like the imperfect coloring that ink blending gives sometimes. Nature is not perfect in its flowers and makes each of them unique. I used distress inks and liquid adhesive.

Here is a view of my card with the die sets I used. There are other flowers and stems in the die set, but I chose to use the one that gave me five different small to medium flowers for the “trellis” feel I was going for on this card. I hope you like the colors and layout that I used for this card. It was simple and fun to make!
