Challenge Reminder: Inspired By Nature
by Jennifer Harte

Hello Friends! This is a friendly reminder for you to join the Poppystamps monthly challenge. The theme for May is “Inspired By Nature.”

I was fortunate to take a trip to Antarctica several years ago and saw so many penguins along with other incredible wildlife. When I saw the Floating Igloo and Iceberg dies (part of the Penguin Party release), I immediately thought of my favorite photo from that  trip.

It was an early morning in Cierva Cove and I was riding in a Zodiac when I spotted a Chinstrap Penguin standing on a glacier in the distance. The ice was gorgeous—so many shades of blue. The wind had blown the snow off the glaciers and the dense ice was absorbing the light in the most beautiful way.

Now, on to my card and the Poppystamps challenge. I chose to use the Fancy Party Penguin (without the party hat and glasses) for my card. I started with watercolor paper and ink-blended various shades of blue Distress Oxide inks and lightly spattered with water to add some texture. Then I die cut three icebergs from the Floating Igloo and Iceberg die set. For the background I used the Scalloped Pinpoint Frames and my sentiment is from the Sentimental Banners stamp and die set.

You can read more about the monthly challenge and see samples by clicking the “New Challenge” tab at the top of this blog. To be eligible to win, you’ll need to use at least one Poppystamps product. When you’re ready to share, scroll to the bottom of the page and add your card.

I hope my card inspires you to join the May “Inspired By Nature” challenge! There’s still time to have fun and share your project. We’d love to see what you make! Once you enter, you are automatically eligible to win a $20 Poppystamps gift card.
