Snowbell Tea
by Jennifer Harte

Hello Friends! In honor of Spring being here I’m sharing two cards featuring products from the brand new Nordic Daydream release.

I love finding Snowbell flowers on my walks in the Spring, so I was excited to use this new die set. The one die has three stems and the other die has three petals. I cut several of each piece because I wasn’t sure how many I’d need for my bouquet. You can always save the extras for the inside of your card or for future projects. Depending on the stage of the bloom, you may see six petals and some inner green dots on the snowbells. In an attempt to recreate this, you may notice that on some flowers I glued two sets of petals together.

I also fell in love the new Nordic Cozy Tea Cup. I wanted to create a floral tea cup reminiscent of the delicate china tea cups my Nana used to have. She didn’t have any purple floral tea cups, but I love purple on cards, so I chose a piece of the pretty Memory Box Anemone Grove patterned paper for the cup. I didn’t want to cover too much of the pretty paper, so this time I only used the top border instead of all the decorative pieces. There’s one tiny heart on the teacup, I’m sure you’ll see it.

To arrange the bouquet, I placed some double-sided adhesive tape of the back of the tea cup to help hold the Snowbells while I arranged them. I intentionally didn’t glue all the blooms down, so it would give a realistic feel of a bouquet for my recipient.

I love butterflies, so was excited to see the new Nordic Whisper Butterfly die. To keep the focus on the tea cup bouquet, I die cut all the layers of the butterfly using cardstock from the Stormy Blue 6×6 Memory Box pad. I finished my card with the Hello Spring sentiment. I created my background for the card by ink blending various shades of green and purple Distress Oxide inks and lightly spattering it with water and gold ink.

Since I had so much fun with my first card, I couldn’t resist making another using the adorable brand new Nordic Nestled Bird.

Since it won’t be long before Yellow Warblers arrive in Michigan, I used yellow Distress Oxide inks to color the bird.

I left off the “Spring” part of the Hello Spring sentiment and for the tea cup, I used the reverse side of the Memory Box Anemone Grove patterned paper that I used on my first card. My background is a favorite—the Diamond Oval Pinpoint Background die. I used a pad to “emboss” it instead of die cutting.

I hope you enjoyed my Spring bouquets and take some time to visit the Poppystamps Web site and check out the brand new Nordic Daydream release. It’s truly beautiful. Thanks so much for visiting, and don’t forget to share some handmade happiness of your own!
