Hello Fall
by Jennifer Harte

Hello Friends on this first full day of fall! Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. I love walking the trails in the crisp air and the ever-changing colors. I guess that’s why I enjoy making colorful leaf-themed cards!

Today, I’m sharing a card with all the gorgeous colors of Autumn and then some! I used the Nordic Oak and Maple Leaves dies and added a few of the fun Nordic Swirl Mushrooms. I knew I wanted to cover the card front, so I just kept die cutting the leaves and mushrooms. I lost count! I wasn’t too worried if I had extras, because they always come in handy for future cards.

I used Distress Oxide inks to color each leaf and mushroom individually. It was fun watching the leaves come to life. Next came arranging them on the card. I layered them on a spare A2 card base and then transferred them one by one to the actual card. You’ll have to believe me; it didn’t take as long as it looks.

The Happy Fall sentiment is perfect for today and this colorful card. I die cut the sentiment from the beautiful Poppystamps Glossy Black paper and used vellum for the backer to soften it a bit.

I added many tiny hearts this time, so I’m sure you spotted them. As a finishing touch, I used a few extra die cuts inside my card. I admit this card may be a bit over the top, but I’ll be sending to a friend who doesn’t get out much anymore. I’m sure she’ll enjoy the beautiful Autumn colors. I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful season too.

The leaves and mushrooms are so fun to work with and I hope it inspires you to use them and other items from the Nordic Forest release on your fall-themed cards and projects. Don’t forget to share some handmade happiness of your own this Autumn!
