Let’s Celebrate You

There are lots of reasons to celebrate. Birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, good grades, retirement… see what I mean? I’ve created a card for you today that would work for any of those I mentioned and more!
I cut a panel from the Birthday Fun paper pad using the Nordic Floral Plate. Subtle stripes with interest you might say. I used a sheet of adhesive on the reverse side to help hold all of the bits and pieces in place. This panel was adhered to a white card base.
Next came the pair of big balloons. Well almost a pair. I had a small piece of this pretty patterned paper (MB) left, so I cut one full balloon and a partial balloon!
My pretty duo of ‘monarch-like’ butterflies are the stars of the show. The gentleman is on the bottom and the lady if flying above. I googled monarch butterflies for the male and female coloring. He’s orange and black; she’s lighter with a little more of a golden yellow with the orange and black. I guess you can say that this is my artistic version of that description!
I finished the card off with a few Fairy Jewels and a little gold twine. I’m happy with the way this turned out. The colors say August to me! I might just give this to my dad for his 87th birthday in a few days… what do you think?

Ohhh, it’s beautiful, Lisa, and I think it would be great for your Dad! It never occurred to me that male and female butterflies of any kind are different. Interesting! Love your design, as always just right, and the yellow is beautiful!

I just love everything about this, Lisa. The colors are gorgeous and very August-y in my opinion. The background is so special as are those papers I am sure your dad will love it.
