Whimsical Cheery Butterflies & A Summer Bouquet

Hello Friends! I love butterflies, so couldn’t resist the beautiful Nordic Cheery Butterfly die set. Butterflies make me smile, so I hope my card brings joy to your day! I also have a bonus card with a beautiful summer bouquet.

To begin, I ink blended several panels of white cardstock with colorful inks. Then I die cut many of the Nordic Cheery Butterflies. I started mixing and matching the colorful pieces and ended up having extras for future projects.

I wanted to keep my background simple. I chose to use the Nordic Sweeping Branch and did not do any coloring or ink blending. I die cut the branch three times and randomly placed the branches on an A2 card base. The white-on-white background adds texture and interest and allows the butterflies to shine!

I topped it off with the Thank You Tender Script sentiment. I die cut the shadow with some leftover scrap paper that I ink blended for the birds (to tie everything together) and used plain white cardstock for the sentiment.

For my summer bouquet card, I chose the Nordic Pendant Flower and Snowbell Flowers.

For my background I chose the diamond Oval Pinpoint Background and layered it over light purple cardstock to complement the blooms. 

The flowers, stems, and leaves were die cut and colored with Distress Oxide inks. The flowers are so easy to assemble and everything came together quickly. For something a little different, I used the Scalloped Pinpoint Tags and arranged the bouquet on the largest tag cut from some beautiful Memory Box Glimmering Gladiola paper. 

I haven’t decided who this card is for, so I’ll add the sentiment later—though it will probably end up as birthday card (I can never have too many of those!). I finished things up by tucking in a tiny heat for a sweet final touch.
