Birthday Wishes
by Lisa Elton

I needed a card to send birthday wishes to my cousin this week. I knew I wanted to use the pretty little Nordic Watering Can and got right to work dressing it up. Let’s begin at the beginning!

I used a shiny silver cardstock to give my watering can the look of metal. The sweet Nordic Happy Bunny is peeking out with those birthday wishes. I didn’t use all of the dies pieces for her this time. I kept her very simple with just a little Copic coloring added.

This was popped onto a white card base with the largest of the Fine Eyelet Frames added.

What’s a birthday without flowers! The Nordic Pendant Flower set had just the pretty blooms I was looking for. I chose a couple shades of pink and added several to the design. Remember that you can mix and match the way you use Poppystamps dies. You don’t have to follow the photo on the packaging. Just be creative and have fun.

I used the leaves and more blossoms to ground my design.

It looked a touch out of balance, so I added a couple more blooms! The Balloon Celebrations set provided me with a stamped sentiment. I use gray ink to echo the metal look of the watering can. A silver heat embossed sentiment would have worked here too… next time!

I hope I’ve inspired you to use your imagination with your dies to create something special. This one is on it’s way to North Carolina for my cousin. I hope she likes it!

Such an ADORABLE card Lisa! I really LOVE that watering can and might NEED it! And the little bunny peeking around it…too CUTE!! And of course, the flowers are the icing on top…beautiful! This card is definitely going to bring a smile to your cousin’s face!! Beautifully done my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Lisa, that little peek-a-boo bunny is so sweet just as you’ve made her today! Love the flowers and tin watering can but it’s that eyelet cover panel that caught my eye today! SO pretty!
