Summer in the Garden
by Jennifer Harte

Hello Friends! Summer is (almost officially) here and I’ve been spending lots of time out in my garden—so, of course I had to create a card inspired by it. I used the new Lovely Floral Bundle die set which features two gorgeous blooms and coordinating leaves.

For my background I chose the Penelope Pinpoint Frame because it reminded me a garden lattice. I die cut it with Kraft Woodgrain paper and added a touch of brown ink around the edges. I layered it over green cardstock to mimic a lush garden scene.

The flowers, stems, and leaves from the Lovely Floral Bundle were die cut and colored with Distress Oxide inks. I did add extra flowers for a fuller arrangement. The flowers are so easy to assemble and the arrangement came together quickly.

Since I’ll be mailing this to a gardening friend for a summer birthday, I finished it with the new Happy Birthday Tender Script sentiment, cut in Glossy Black cardstock backed with vellum. See if you can spy the tiny hearts I added as a finishing touch.

I hope this summer garden card brings a smile to your face and inspires you to spend some time enjoying your own garden—or maybe visiting a nearby one. Thanks so much for stopping by, and don’t forget to share some handmade happiness of your own!
