Celebrate with Flowers!
by Rachel Duong

Hi creative friends! It’s Rachel here with a bright and cheerful floral card. The Poppystamps “Nordic Pretty Petal Flower” is just one of many gorgeous dies from the latest “Nordic Forest” release. I love the intricate petals. They are absolutely amazing!

To create this card I painted a background on a sheet of watercolor paper. I brushed on water and then added color letting it run and spread out.  Next I die cut the “Nordic Pretty Petal Flower” petal dies from the Poppystamps 8.5″ x 11″ Key Lime, Leaf Sprout, Cilantro and Deep Turquoise paper packs. If you haven’t used this paper, it is great quality, heavy and comes in many beautiful colors. After the watercolor background was dry, I cut an A2 cardfront slightly smaller than an A2 card. I adhered it to a white cardbase. Using the extra pieces of the background, I die cut more petals.

I chose white cardstock for the flower base color and cut out three pieces. After that,  I die cut the centers using the same  Poppystamps cardstock, and white too. I glued the white flowers (bases) to the card front allowing two of the flowers to run off the edge. I arranged the petals randomly on the bases paying attention only to color. I glued the petals on the bases and then continued on with the centers. I trimmed off the flowers going over the edge.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece ot the watercolor background. I added an extra layer under the sentiment for sturdiness and dimension.  Finally Fairy Drops on the card resemble morning water droplets!

I love this light, carefree card. I hope you find it just right for a spring celebration! Don’t forget to take a look at the Poppystamps shop and you will see the new release full of so many “must haves” from the Nordic Forest! Until next time, take care and craft away!
