Birthday Candles
by Michelle Woerner
Hi crafty friends! It’s Michelle Woerner here with a fun birthday card to share. Who doesn’t love pretty candles with pops of gold?!? I used the Basic Birthday Candles die set and strategically die cut the candles from the papers in the new Birthday Fun 6×6 pad. I die cut a candle from vellum and used it as a “guide”. I moved the vellum candle around on the pattern paper until I had it just right. Then placed the die exactly where my “guide” was and was good to go!
Aren’t these papers gorgeous?!? I love the delicate patterns and pops of gold foil throughout!
Of course I had to add a few small flowers. I chose the smallest from the Layered Pointy Petals die set. I added some matching color to the petals with a copic marker. The sentiment is from the Birthday Wishes Moonlight Script die set. I just love the font. I didn’t want the sentiment to overshadow the candles, so I used gold cardstock with a white shadow. I think it’s the perfect blend.
I hope I’ve inspired you to use your pattern paper for die cuts and not just for backgrounds! Be sure to check out the entire release, lots of goodies there for all your birthday and celebration projects. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
