It’s A Special Day!

Hi everyone, it’s Rachel here sharing a soft, pastel bunny card featuring the Poppystamps Nordic Bundled Bunny. It’s A Special Day but we don’t know what that day is! Maybe it’s for Easter, a juvenile birthday, welcoming a baby or another celebration.

To create this card I chose a watercolor background I had previously painted on one of those days I felt like making a stash of my own patterned paper. I die cut the Nordic Bundled Bunny, I love the variation on his head. I die cut the sweater in a peachy-pink pearlized paper, the lower part came from the watercolor paper. I added black behind the eyes and I glued the pieces together. I set him aside. The set also comes with a scarf, it will be great for next winter.

Next comes the balloons, I decided on the lightest shades of blue and pink glitter paper. Poppystamps Giant Birthday Balloons die set was perfect– one large balloon and two small ones. I love the contrasting sizes. Using glue dots, I attached fine, gold threads under the balloons.

I ink blended Distress Oxide greens in a circular shape covering most of a creme 4″ x 5 1/2″ cardfrontand. I adhered it to a white cardbase.

I placed the balloons and bunny where I thought they looked best and glued the pieces down. I popped up the bunny, the sentiment and the heart balloon. I stamped the sentiment in a teal ink. As previously mentioned, I chose this sentiment because it can be used for many occasions–even an adult birthday party would be just fine!

I added tiny Fairy Jewels for sparkle and pizzazz on one balloon. Left over little white hearts from the Nordic Heart Pattern Rings came in handy on the other small balloon. So cute!

Look at the beautiful effects when light shines on the specialty papers. Not only the balloons, but the pearlescence of the sweater makes the bunny stand out too! Balloon tails fall untied as they add to the carefree nature of the card.
