A Cozy Cabin Thank You!
by Rachel Duong

Hi to all! I hope this post finds you well. Christmas festivities are over and as we wait for the new year what better activity than making thank you cards!  I am sharing a winter scene in a jar, my card is a  “Thank You” to someone special– of course many sentiments could be used. I used the Poppystamps “Cottage Terrarium” and the “Mini Forest Plants” dies. I turned the jar on its side and created a snow globe appearance.

To create this card, I die cut the “Cottage Terrarium” pieces from watercolor paper.  I blended blue ribbon distress ink around the edges of the jar and spritzed with water. I lightly painted in the bottom of the jar and filled the lid in a cool gray. Next I painted the little cabin in browns, greens and yellow. I glued the cabin together.

Then I die cut the Poppystamps “Mini Forest Plants” die. I painted the trees in a few shades of green. I love how they turned out! I cut a piece of white for snow and glued it to the bottom of the jar. I arranged the scene and glued it all down.

On a white cardstock approximately 4″ x 5.25″, I stenciled the “Nordic Motif” in a pale grey on the cardfront. I glued down the motif on a white cardbase. I placed the jar in a splat box and splattered white acyrilic paint all over the jar. Fun!

Last but not least are the embellishments. I wrapped red twine arond the lid, tied a bow and then glued the jar to the background. I chose a foil greetings white tab and positioned it to look as if it was attached to the string. Red Fairy Jewels and clear Fairy Drops complete the card. This card was a delight to make!

A peaceful scene in the woods! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find a little bit of inspiration from this card. Take care and see you very soon!
