Creating interactive holiday cards is a delightful way to bring joy to the season, and this fun fold card featuring the Nordic Sweet Elf Die is no exception. Creating the Nordic Sweet Elf
The star of this card is the adorable Nordic Sweet Elf die. I began by die-cutting the various pieces and assembling them to form the elf. Its outfit is a festive combination of red, green, and white, perfectly capturing the holiday spirit. The completed elf added a whimsical and joyful element to the card, setting the tone for the rest of the design.
Crafting the Fun Fold Base
To create the unique fun fold structure, I started with a base panel measuring 4.25 by 5.5 inches. I adhered two pieces of patterned paper to this panel to add visual interest and a festive backdrop. For the interactive element, I created a top-folding note card measuring 3.75 by 5.5 inches. To add texture and dimension, I embossed the front of this smaller note card with an embossing folder before adhering it to the center of the patterned paper base.
Adding the Focal Image
The focal image was built around the Nordic Sweet Elf. I die-cut a circle using the pinpoint scallop circle die and added a red scallop border for a festive touch. Using foam tape, I adhered the elf to the center of the circle, creating depth and making it the star of the design. This embellished circle was then mounted onto the center flap of the fun fold card, creating a delightful interactive element that draws attention to the elf.
Finishing Touches
To complete the card, I added the sentiment “Happy Holidays” from the Christmas Greetings White Tabs along the bottom of the card. For an extra festive sparkle, I embellished the card with a few red gems, scattering them thoughtfully to enhance the overall design. These finishing touches tied the card together beautifully, adding a polished and celebratory feel.
