A Serene Christmas
by Susanbcards

Hello! Today I’m sharing my first card as a Poppystamps Design Team Member. I created this 5×7 inch Christmas card using some new products from the Nordic Noel and Holiday Cheer collections.
I started with the 2 largest ovals from the Scalloped Pinpoint Oval Frames, taped them evenly together and diecut a piece of gold foil cardstock. This creates the 3 pieces that fit together to create my frame.

Using the smaller oval die, I cut a piece of watercolor paper, to fit inside the frame. I sprayed and spattered the paper with ink to create texture.

I diecut the Nordic Valley Bird from shades of brown and white cardstock for the body. I inked the body with some reddish ink to add some color.

I wanted to use the large Satin Ribbon die for the bow. This is a large bow that could easily be the focal point of a card. I wanted to use it on my frame but not block the scene. I cut off a few inches from the top of the longest strand (on the left) before gluing it together. Don’t be afraid to change things, it makes your supplies more versatile. I attached the bow to the frame with a small pop dot.
I cut the Trimmed Trees from some glittery cardstock, using the largest tree as a branch for the bird to sit on. For the moon I used a 1/2″ circle punch.
I diecut the Merry Christmas Fluffy Script 2 times from the same gold foil cardstock as the frame. I adhered the 2 sets together to give it some dimension.

I hope I’ve inspired you to start making your holiday cards, although you could easily use these ideas for other occasions. Be sure to check out these beautiful products in the Poppystamp store, thank you for visiting the blog.
