Monkey Business
By Lisa Elton

Shiver me timbers, there’s a whole lot of monkey business happening on today’s card! My little band of pirate monkeys have found their dream treasure on a tiny deserted island. No doubloons or pieces of eight for them, but this booty is pure gold nonetheless!

Being the fancy monkey pirates they are, they needed decorative hats! A lovely floral for the captain and soft blue plaids for her crew.

Using die cuts from the Whittle Pirate Monkey Kit, I created the ship using kraft and brown cardstocks. The crow’s nest, anchor and porthole where cut from kraft as well, then colored with a Copic marker. Lady pirates require a fancy sail!

Next came the components for the deserted island. They were made using the Whittle Tropical Gator Kit. The puffy clouds came from the Whittle Unicorn Kit. I love the way all of the whittle kits play together!

I think this captain has a couple of swashbucklers on her hands, just look at their antics! Scuttlebutt has it that they like to partake in their banana daiquiris!

I cut oodles of the little bananas, leaving some single and turning others into bunches.  A Copic maker was used on the tips. The card base was a simple blue with ink blending for the water, splash and sand.

Thanks for taking a peek today. It’s time for me to weigh anchor and set sail for my next card adventure, savvy?
