Delightful Daisy
by Candice Crawford

Hey there crafty friends, Candice here, sharing with you today another card design from the design team.
Today’s card design is a slim line card using the Delightful Daisy die and Greeting Basics stamp set. Slim line cards are so popular now amongst crafters, that I decided to test my creativity and create one for all of you. If you are not familiar with slim line cards, they handmade cards sized at 8.5 x 3.5 inches and fit inside a standard size number 10 envelope.

I started the project by cutting my white card base at 8.5 x 7 inches and scored the card in the middle at 3.5 inches. Then I took a second piece of white card stock and cut it to 8 x 3 inches as my card front layer. I also cut a piece of black card stock measuring 8 2/16 x 3 2/16 inches for additional layer for my card.

On the white card front layer, I colored the panel with Distress Oxide inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mowed Lawn and Squeezed Lemonade, using my Tim Holtz ink blending tool. I then added a few water splatters to the card for that element of distress. Distress Oxide inks are the best inks when blending strong vibrant ink combinations such as this one.

Next I die cut the delightful daisy die twice from some white card stock. I also die cut the medium size jar image form the Jar Collection die set, but ended up not using it. I then colored the flower centers with my Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink using a small ink dauber.

Than I adhered the colored flower centers to each of the four daisies with some liquid glue. Next I arranged the daisies onto my card front panel snipping away parts of the stem and leaves where they overlapped one another or extended beyond the card front.
With a scrap piece of white card stock I inked up the paper with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink, then die cut the panel with one of the large labels from the Colwell Label die set. Next I die cut the smaller coordinating label from the same set with a plain piece of scrap white card stock.

I then stamped the sentiment “friends are FLOWERS that never fade” from the Greeting Basics stamp set in my Versafine Onyx Black ink onto the small label.
Finally I adhered the stamped sentiment panel onto the larger inked panel with some liquid adhesive, then popped up the combined panels onto my cards base with some foam adhesive. Lastly I assembled my card using liquid adhesive starting with the card front layer onto the black card stock piece, then finally onto the slim line card based.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s slimline card share and found inspiration.
Thanking you for joining me. Until next time, happy crafting!
