Cozy Autumn Cards with the Nordic Acorn Squirrel

Hello Friends! Do you enjoy watching squirrels? At our previous home, we had several furry visitors who loved to nibble on my flowers throughout the summer and fall. They also loved snacking at the bird feeder in the winter!

I’m sharing two cards featuring the adorable Nordic Acorn Squirrel. I love all the detailed layers in these dies, especially the squirrel’s tail.

For my first card, I paired the little squirrel with the beautiful Nordic Cozy Tea Cup. I tucked her inside the tea cup where she is happily eating all the acorns she gathered. I used patterned paper from the Memory Box Gladiola Plaid pad for her sweater.

The background was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks and die cut with the largest of the delicate Fine Eyelet Frames. My sentiment is the older Hello Spring die. I love that the words are separate, making it easy to use the “Hello” on your cards and projects.

For my second card, the sweet squirrel is busy snacking on her favorite acorns. I die cut four Nordic Sweeping Branches and colored the layered leaves with rich autumn shades of Distress Oxide inks. After arranging the branches in a swirling pattern, I added plenty of acorns from the Nordic Acorn Squirrel die set, tucking them among the colorful leaves.

This time I ink blended a panel of white wood grained paper to add extra texture. I die cut it with the largest Scalloped Pinpoint Frames die, but left off the scalloped border.
