Valentine’s Release Blog Blitz Begins!

You picked  a great day for a visit!  Poppystamps has just added a new Valentine’s release to the store and our blog blitz begins today!  That means we’re sharing projects made with the new release and offering some prizes on every blog blitz post for the next two weeks.   You can see the new release in the store here. 


I like non traditional colors for holidays because they’re unexpected and catch the recipient by surprise.  I’m guessing Mr. J would be happy with a pink and red Valentine from me, but I know he’ll like this one even more. 

For this card you need three shades of blue card stock.  I cut the new Wavy Heart from a panel of the lightest shade, and then adhered the panel (with the open window) to my card base.  I cut the Wavy heart two more time from the darker shades of blue, and alternating the colors inserted the die cuts into the negative space in the soft blue panel.

I cut only a few of the wave stripes a second time from the darker blue shades and tucked the Whittle Otters so their paws are hanging over the die cut waves.

The little guys are held in place with a bit of tape.  When this piece is assembled it’s easy to attach over the completed panel with adhesive foam tape.  The tape adds some dimension to the waves. 

The Doodle Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment is also new.  I embellished the completed design with smaller hearts cut with the Heart Trio Showcase Die and some sparkling clear sequins to look like a sparkle of light on the water.

I can’t think of anything better than a combination of waves with a heart, not only for him but for all of us who relax by the sea (far more sensible)from childhood on. Really original.
