Welcome Poppystamps Fans!Continuing on with my Love of Valentine's for the Blog Blitz. I have used watercolor paper to cut with the grid collage die. I had imagined this card when I picked this die.

 

 

I watercolored the base using reds, pinks and a touch of orange the brushed on the pinks/reds on the top, die cut piece. Finished it off by adding black ink splatters, because I intended to add a black, white embossed sentiment also from Poppystamps.

The hearts were from the inlay heart die. I also watercolored the white one that I attached to the sentiment. The top piece is mounted with foam squares to add dimension.

  46. This is an excellent example of how you can take a die (or stamp, for that matter) that seemingly has nothing to do with the subject matter, and make it work beautifully!

  78. Lezlye, I hooted when I first saw this card a few days ago, but didn’t have the time to make a comment. The wonderfully organic watercolors and brushstrokes, contrasted with the very inorganic die cut, just bloomin knocks me socks off! The horizontal brushstrokes that cross the grid further enhance this contrast. The black splatters tie the sentiment to the composition. This one is going to Pinterest so I can remind myself about all the great possibilities this card showcases. Thank you!
