Create a Scene
by Jeanne Jachna

One of the very first things I loved about craft dies when I discovered them, was the ability to create a scene from all the images.  I could cut the images from colored card stock or pattern paper and create my own little world.   If you love creating a scene you're in the right place.. and at the right time!  We're having a blog blitz showing you all the newest products in the Spring release and giving away a prize on every post April 14-27!!  I used LOTS of new dies on this one so let's get started!  I'll tell you all about them.

First the background – it's a background die called Boddington Treescape.  I cut it from a dark evergreen card stock and punched out all the little pieces.   I inlayed only the three large sections – the grass and sky.  You don't have to cut the whole image – just trim a piece of colored card stock for the area you want to cut and then roll it through your die cut machine.   I attached the inlays with tape on the back of the dark green frame die cut.   The tree areas were left open.  I really didn't want to cut all those bitty pieces inside the trees so I trimmed a piece of scrap paper and placed them behind the open areas so the color would peek through.

These bitty flowers are the new Daisy Cluster die.  You can stack the different cut outs or leave them as small accents to create flowers.  I added some gems for the flower centers.

The Sly Fox is easy to assemble.  I gave mine some google eyes for a little fun.   To get that sentiment on the hill I cut a scrap of card stock – white – along that area of the background die.  Then I trimmed it with scissors into a strip, stamped it with a sentiment from Into The Words, and tucked it behind the sly fox.   It's sitting on top of the green grass inlay.

It's a sunny spring day in my perfect world so I cut a sun from Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Circle Layers – I usually make a sun with two shades of yellow to add dimension.  The Twirly clouds are so fun with their swirly cut outs!

A sky full of bitty pink flowers – wouldn't that be nice?  These are the new Butterfly Sprinkles die.  I can see them cut with gold  and sprinkled like sequins or confetti on my next project!
2So fun right?  We want you to be able to make your own little world too so the prize for today is the Boddington Treescape Die!   All you need to do to enter to win is leave a comment by April 28!  One lucky winner will be selected and names announced on this blog April 30!

  10. I’m smiling brightly in seeing your marvelous scene that captures some of the surroundings we have…wild flowers, hills, trees…and I know we have foxes, as we’ve seen glimpses of them on occasion. Your Mr. Fox is the star of the show, and those swirly clouds run a close second (tied with everything else, of course). Fabulous!
