Congratulations Bridget
My granddaughter, Bridget, is becoming quite the horse gal. She's been taking lessons and recently was in her very first competition. I know there will be many more. I was thinking of Bridget when I ordered the trotting horse die. I wasn't sure how I'd use the birch tree stencil, I do think both are working well together.
It's no secret that I love glitter. Not just love, but really really LOVE glitter. This card has plenty. Here's a quick note on how I did this. I used a stencil spray on the stencil and it held it down very well. Then I rubbed a blue ink all over the white cardstock. Then I sponged on a liquid glue. I removed the stencil and covered the entire piece with a transparent glitter. Now, running to the kitchen, I washed the glue away. I poured the extra glitter back into the bottle and set the piece aside to dry.
Now for the trotting pony. After diecutting, I covered the die with silver glitter. Added a ribbon and it's now time to assemble the card. I trimmed the stencil to 4 x 5 1/4, mounted the stenciled piece to a piece of mirror silver card stock, which was trimmed to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. Now mount to a quarter fold card base. I like this card oh yes I do! I hope you'll give adding glitter to the stenciled piece. It's easy, fun and if you love glitter….this is a technique for you!
