Dog Parade

Repetition is one of the best design styles you can use with rubber stamps! We made a line of puppies across the card and used a contrasting color scheme to create a fun, energetic card.
The puppy, 223B Small Rex, was stamped on a white piece of paper and also onto the Robins Egg layer of cardstock. Cutting the dogs body out of the white cardstock and then laying it onto the Robins Egg cardstock gives you a nice, bright white dog. A little hint of color across the bottom of the dog (we used a Aqua Blue (BG01) Copic marker) creates a shadow – and once the white dog is glued onto the Robins Egg layer we outlined the image with another Copic marker (pale green Mignonette YG11). This really makes it stand out.
Since the primary colors for the dogs were black and white, we used a Black card for the base and a Black and White gingham 1/4 inch ribbon (May Arts KB10) to embellish the front.
We printed the message "you're the BEST!" onto the Bayou layer using a computer and printer.
On another note, we got an email from our friend Dani at Rubber Soul, who received her order of poppystamps on Friday, and sold through half of it as she was unpacking the box in the store! We were delighted to hear that customers were buying the stamps right out of the shipping box! She sent me a picture of her in her favorite hat (seriously, we didn't plan this). I think there are some similarities between the stamp, Dani Dot (214C) and Dani – you be the judge:

  1. I just discovered your darling stamps at Impress (Tukwila) today. I chose “teresa tea time”, “catie cupcake”, “petunia petals” and the large and small kitties. I can’t wait to use them! I have a question for you: Do you plan to add sentiments to the line sometime in the future? I would love to purchase sentiments to go with the great stamps.
You guys are off to a wonderful start! Great job!
