Christmas in July: Penguin Tags Card
by Carol McFarland

Hello and Happy Christmas in July to all the cardmakers who get ahead by working on holiday projects in the summer! These penguin dies are all about “cute” and are so easy to assemble. They could just as well be Christmas tags but I decided to show how they look on a card for today’s post. You can produce lots of tags in a short period of time for December gift giving. I used 2791 Scalloped Framer Tags, 2801 Coffee Penguin, 2797 Santa Penguin, and 2800 Snow Angel Penguin for today’s card.

Here’s a closer look at these fun and busy little penguins. I made three Santa hats from the Santa Penguin dies so that all three had the same look. Coffee Penguin is the one with the gift here and he also comes with a to-go coffee cup and a heart for versatility in what he can hold.

Look at the layers on this center tag! From the Scalloped Framer tag to the penguin, to its gift…everything lines up well and adds dimension to the card. You can make the scalloped part of the tag a different color if you wish, or make the center piece of the tag a different color or texture. So many options!

Here is what the Scalloped Framer Tags set looks like to compare with how I used it. There is a second tab choice for the string or ribbon to pass through that is also scalloped. Is your mind picturing all the versions of this tag set that could be made? I think the penguins fit perfectly on them, too.

Well, I hope I have inspired you to get busy on tags, cards and other cardmaking fun for Christmas and all the fall holidays. Tags are a fun assembly line project and with these four die sets, you can make so many different combinations for a Christmas tag or card.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at these new holiday products!
