Once a floral designer, always a floral designer! When I saw the new Nordic Grand Tree Toppers, my floral design brain kicked in! I pictured it upside down resembling a fancy flower cone or even on it’s side as a cornucopia with all things harvest-y spilling out! Today, I went in the flower cone direction filling it with the lovely Nordic Holly Sprigs. Lets break it down, shall we?

I cut the largest tree topper from glitter cardstock then topped it with the new Cute Bow. My bow was cut from our pretty Cherry Red cardstock.

I wanted a simple neutral background, so I went with white on white. The Nordic Snowflake Border was layered onto a white card base. You can leave all of the little bits intact if you would like to, but I liked the depth it added by removing them.

My “flower cone” was adhered to the card using liquid glue giving me some wiggle room for the holly stems to be tucked in.

All of the wonderful dies in the Nordic series have layers. I used all three here for the holly. But it’s pretty with just the base layer too. Those little dots are delightful! The berry die is included in the set. I sprinkled mine about. I thought about adding some sparkle to them or even using glitter paper, but I didn’t want to distract from the fancy cone!

Does this Christmas Banners sentiment bring a song to mind? Now if I only had some mistletoe! I hope I’ve inspired you to look at your dies in different ways. Thanks so much for visiting with us today!

  3. It looks like someone crocheted a lovely Christmas holder just to put that holly in, Lisa., and then crocheted a border to go with it. Very clever and beautifully made.
