Sweet Celebration Double Scoop Birthday Card
By Jyoti Adhikari

There’s something undeniably charming about ice cream-themed cards, and today’s project is no exception! Using the Poppystamps Triple Scoop Craft Die and the cheerful Birthday Fun 6×6 paper pack, I created a fun and vibrant birthday card that’s perfect for any celebration. With teal and pink as my main colors and a touch of gold for elegance, this card is a sweet treat from start to finish.

Choosing the Perfect Background

For the background, I fell in love with the teal heart-patterned paper from the Birthday Fun 6×6 pack. Its soft yet playful design made it the ideal base for my card. However, I didn’t want to overwhelm the design by using a full panel of pattern paper. Instead, I paired it with pink cardstock to add contrast and layered the teal paper as an accent. To give the transition a polished look, I added a gold strip where the pattern paper ended, introducing a touch of sophistication.

Creating the Focal Point

The star of the card is undoubtedly the double scoop ice creams, crafted with the Poppystamps Triple Scoop Craft Die. Despite their smaller size, these colorful cones pack a visual punch! I cut and assembled two cones of vibrant, layered ice cream to bring in that birthday party vibe. By mounting them on the card with foam tape, I added dimension and ensured they stood out against the soft, patterned background.

Adding a Playful Banner

To complement the ice creams and balance the layout, I created a fun, colorful banner with the help of Celebration Banner Craft die using pink and teal cardstock, along with a pink pattern paper featuring gold foiled dots from the Birthday Fun 6×6 pack. The mix of solid colors and patterns made the banner an eye-catching detail. I arranged it diagonally, flowing from the top left corner of the card, which balanced the composition beautifully and added a festive touch.

Finishing Touches with a Sentiment

For the sentiment, I turned to the Happy Birthday Foiled Greetings White Tabs, which have quickly become a favorite in my stash. These pre-made sentiments are so convenient and versatile! I adhered one directly onto one of the ice cream cones, tying the design together perfectly. With the sentiment in place, the card was complete—a bright, joyful creation ready to bring a smile to someone’s special day.

This ice cream-themed birthday card was so much fun to create and showcases how impactful smaller focal elements can be when paired with thoughtful design and color choices. The combination of pattern papers, the playful banner, and the adorable double scoops made this card a true celebration in itself. I hope it inspires you to mix and match colors, patterns, and dies to create your own sweet masterpieces!
