A Spook-tacular Birthday!

Hi crafty friends! It’s Rachel here with a Halloween card full of festivities and bits of spooky fun. The Poppystamps “Perky Pumpkins” are gourd-geous and the “Ghostly Cat/s” are super clever and adorable.
To create this card I die cut the pumpkins out of watercolor paper. I painted them using combinations of yellow mixed in with predominant colors of orange, green and brown. Next I glued the pieces together and set aside. I die cut the cat out of black glossy paper and the ghost costume out of white glitter paper from the 6×6 Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad (see below). I die cut the “Cute Spider/s” out of the Black Glossy Paper (see below).
I used a heavy black cardbase and stamped the sentiment from the “Bugs and Hisses” Poppystamps clear stamp set with Versamark ink. I sprinkled clear embossing powder on the ink and applied heat. I love the effect of a message barely there and if angled just so…the shiny texture can be seen! I chose a “Happy Birthday” font from the Open Studio gold foiled greeting tabs.
I arranged all the pieces and then glued them down. Also I added a few thick pieces of card stock to the back of the cat to pop it up and provide dimension.
Finally I splattered gold acrylic paint around the pumpkins for a dramatic flair!
I drew a line with a black Sharpie from the spider to the top of the card to represent a cobweb. Also I adhered a leaf falling to the ground below.
