Happy “Holly” Days!
by Rachel Duong

Hi everyone, it’s Rachel here to share a festive card with a picture word to say Happy “Holly” Days! How fun is that?!  I used the Poppystamps “Layered Holly Leaf Trio” die on an Open Studio “Vintage Tray” 3D embossing folder background. Keep scrolling to see how I made this card.

I began by die cutting the holly on watercolor paper. While painting them, I left the leaves and berries in the paper because this made it easy to keep them in place. For the leaves I used green distress inks– mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, lucky clover, and twisted citron. I painted the berries with candied apple.  The beauty of watercoloring is that it does not have to be exact!

I die cut the letters from the “Marzipan Alphabet” from the Memory Box “Lush Green” paper pad. Next I embossed a cream A2 size cardfront using the “Vintage Tray” 3D embossing folder. It also comes with a coordinating cutting die.

As I played around with the arrangement of the die cuts, I layered some of the berries. Extra layers allow them on the card at the same level of the leaves.

I glued the pieces to the embossed cardfront and then to a light grey cardbase. Finally I tied a multi-colored bakers twine on the card for interest and character!

Please check out the awesome Poppystamps Christmas release, it is absolutely beautiful!

Until next time, I hope your days are full of fun, creativity and “holly”!
