Hawaiian Luau
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Friends!
Thank you all so much for dropping by our Poppystamps blog today! One of the greatest perks about having a beautiful die cut system is the ability to create multiple cuts over and over. We make unique, creative cards and projects all the time, but I know there are a lot of teachers, instructors, and classroom moms and helpers out there who use their machines to create big and easy school activities. Today, I am sharing a VERY easy breezy classroom project that’s easy to create and assemble for just about anyone. Here’s a secret, my group of K-1st kids LOVED this Hawaiian Luau lei project we made during our let’s Go to Hawaii activity, and yours will too!

To make these colorful Hawaiian Leis, all you need is ONE die, Rounded Bloom Flowers! I cut out about 20 flowers for each child out of colorful scraps from my paper box, and placed them in a baggie with a few plastic straws and a long piece of string. The kids were able to cut their own straws with kiddie scissors, and then string up their own leis, alternating one piece of straw with one flower until their leis were complete. The kids LOVED wearing them around their neck like leis, and wearing them on their heads like Moana. It was a big hit! You could also make this fun Hawaiian Luau Lei for a Moana themed birthday party, ladies night out, or your next ZOOM meeting with the boss. Let your imagination bloom!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this easy breezy project that’s perfect for busy teachers and crafty moms alike!
Thanks so much for joining us today!
