Holiday Blog Blitz: Hello Autumn
by Nancy Penir

It’s Halloween/Fall Release time at Poppystamps, and I’m showcasing the beautiful Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame and Stencil. This sidekick frame can give your seasonal cards instant ‘oohs and aahs’. It’s so easy to add my sentiment to the framed area. And the stencil allows for color placement on the leaves.

Do you live in a place where the seasons stage a show of color? Time to bring out the sweaters. And to reflect the season on our cards too. Here’s what I did to my card.

I started by inking my watercolor Cardstock with Distress Oxide Inks: Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.

Then sprayed the inked panel with water droplets. And then added a coppery spray and white to the inked panel, letting each layer dry before adding the next. If you ink a larger panel you can cut selectively to your A2 sized card.

With the same inks I used on the watercolor panel, I carefully applied ink to just the edges of the leaves. Remember to tape down your stencil. It really helps to keep the ink where you want it.

There are a couple of new Autumn Leaf die sets new this release that I love with the Sidekick frame. I cut them first in vellum then in white cardstock. After die cutting them, I added a bit of Rose Gold Embossing Powder to the edges of the vellum die cuts. I glued only the middle of the leaf to the white die cut base, and bent up the edges as if fluttering in the breeze.

Autumn is the perfect time to play with our embossing powders and sequins, isn’t it? It’s time to add the bling!
