Peace Dove
by Jeanne Jachna

Hi crafty friends!  I hope you are having a great day!  Today I'm sharing a card made with the beautiful PEACEFUL DOVE  and PEACEFUL DOVE COLLAGE dies.   I did a glitter inlay on the die cut and the background is a color block of card stock.

I created a panel of colorful blues and green made from strips of card stock.  The strips are taped together end to end on the reverse side of the panel.

Next I die cut the PEACEFUL DOVE COLLAGE die from the panel.

Next I applied double sided tape to a panel of white card stock.  I used 2" strips of tape, but I would recommend a large sheet of adhesive if you have one so that no seams (where the edges of the tape meet) are visible.  I selected glitter colors that would compliment the strips of colorful card stock.  I used Martha Stewart Ultra Fine Glitter.  I marked out on the panel the width of the card stock stripes so I would know what color to apply in what area.

Remove the protective cover from the double sided adhesive and apply the glitter.  Blend the colors between the stripes.  Use your finger to press the glitter into the adhesive.

Adhere the color block panel over the glitter panel and trim the panel to fit your card base.

Now cut the PEACEFUL DOVE from white card stock and adhere it over the color block panel.  The PEACEFUL DOVE die fits perfectly over the PEACEFUL DOVE COLLAGE die cut.

I double cut the SWIRLED PEACE die from Gold Glitter and Gold Foil Paper and adhered them together allowing the glitter to peek out from under the foil piece.

Gold enamel dots are added to repeat the gold in the word sentiment and add more sparkle to the design.

These beautiful blues and green are a wonderful alternative to traditional holiday colors, and the sparkle and shine from the glitter and gold will make the season bright!

  2. Beautiful card Jeanne! Love the colours you have used. This year blue and white and silver will be my main colours for my Christmas scene cards. I think it is lovely to go different. The inset sparkly bird would also make beautiful thank you cards for Christmas gifts after the holidays. I have been trying to come up with ideas for Thank you cards for after Christmas that don’t look like Christmas cards. In the past I have tried to purchase Thank you for the Christmas gift cards and I couldn’t find any in the stores, so I had to make it for family far away that sent a lovely gift. Thank you for sharing the beautiful inspiring card today.
