Valentine Hugs
Have you started to make any Valentine's cards yet? Valentine’s Day is a great day to give a hand made “hug” to all of those special people in our lives. Why not make some cards for parents, friends, & co-workers, as well as your sweetie. Many of the Poppy Stamps images work great for creating Valentine cards. For this card, I used Dani Dot (214C) & Peggy Polka Dot (218C). Don’t they make a cute pair? I created a mask (see link for tutorial below) for Dani Dot, so when I stamped Peggy Polka Dot, any overlapping would not show. If you are not familiar with masking, you can find a great tutorial here. I keep any masks I have made attached to the corresponding image (as seen in photo below) so I can use it in the future if needed. I also used a stamp positioner to help with placement of the images.
The base is a Memory Box Licorice notecard, layered with Cranberry, Taffy & Biscotti paper in Cranberry. The sentiment was created by masking off “bear” in the Memory Box “bear hugs” sentiment. Berry Pearls were added around the sentiment as well. The tiny heart scallop border was created using a Martha Stewart border punch. The tiny hearts were made using this MB stamp. The card is finished off with some polka dot ribbon.
