Celebrate Fall Colors with Nordic Acorn Squirrel
by Susanbcards

Hello and thank you for visiting the Poppystamps blog! Today I’m sharing a card using the Nordic Acorn Squirrel against some beautiful fall colors.

For the background panel, I sprayed some Distress Spray Stains in shades of yellow, red and orange with a few spatters of brown. I think it looks like an out of focus fall forest. I always have a stash of inked panels on hand for diecutting or backgrounds. Sometimes I feel like crafting but I’m not sure what to do, so I pull out some inks and blend panels or dip and spritz watercolor paper and store these in a box for later. When I want to make a card, I usually pull out a background first and choose complimentary colors for my diecuts next. I feel like it makes cardmaking quicker for me.

The Nordic Acorn Squirrel is cut from grey and blue cardstock that I ink blended around the edges. I cut 2 acorn from kraft cardstock and 1 from copper metallic cardstock. The Trimmed Trees are cut from 2 shades of dark green cardstock.

I used foam to pop up the squirrel and acorn, it’s the right amount of dimension for this card. I didn’t attach a sentiment this time, I’ll choose one when I’m ready to mail it out.

I hope you are inspired to make a fall card, maybe just ink up some panels for later! You’ll see how easy it is to make a card when you have backgrounds ready to go. Enjoy!
