Birthday Blooms!
by Rachel Duong

Hi there creative and crafty friends! It’s Rachel sharing a Poppystamps card featuring a brand new Nordic Garden release! I fell in love with this release as I spend every minute of my summer days in my backyard flower gardening. Besides the gorgeous Nordic Scatter Flowers, I can’t say enough about the Fine Eyelet Frames and the Nordic Watering Can dies!

I began die cutting the Nordic Watering Can in pearlized silver. I wasn’t sure what my color scheme was going to be so I played around with a few color combos.

Next I die cut the Nordic Scattered Flowers in more colors than I would like to admit! No worries, everything will be saved and used for another card! After I figured out the combinations, I die cut the largest Fine Eyelet Frames in a rich, dark teal cardstock.

I love how the colors on the card feel harmonious. I used 2 yellows, a red-orange and a yellow-orange paper. Light lemon glitter paper, mirrored blue paper and 2 shades of green paper for the stems. Have I mentioned how much I love the Poppystamps paper packs–the quality, the vibrant colors and the specialty papers?! I glued the blossoms together.

Now back to the watering can….I die cut a light teal for the top layer and the darkest teal for the center, making sure the colors stand out against the dark background.

Then I glued the cardfront onto a white cardbase. I was pleased how the arrangement of flowers came together beautifully.

The positioned the watering can at an angle as it is watering the flowers! Then I die cut the Happy Birthday Tender Script 2 times in white and glued them together for bulk and height. I adhered it in mostly blank space so the letters were easily visible and didn’t cover up the watering can. And the card is finished!

Hope you absolutely love this card as much as I do! The new Poppystamps summer release is amazing! I must say I am partial to the Poppystamps Nordic Watering Can! Which one is your favorite? Happy cardmaking and see you very soon!
