Wahoo!
by Rachel Duong

WAHOO! It’s Rachel here with a super, cosmic frog card. The lily pad is a magic carpet zooming around in outer space! Oh the fun adventures that await. The Poppystamps “Lily Pad Frog” die is definitely one of my favorite dies, you might have noticed how much I have used it for cardmaking!

The card is simple by design paired with a colorful background. First I die cut the “Lily Pad Frog” from the 8.5″ x 11″  Key Lime Paper Pack. Many colors are available on the Poppystamps site and the quality of the paper is outstanding. Next I diecut the frog again in Leaf Sprout and the lily pad in Cilantro. I used a black marker to color eyes on the bottom leaf sprout piece. The key lime body is next and I glued it over the eye piece and the Key Lime legs. On to the belly and the piece that creates the mouth in Leaf Sprout.  I added glitter glue to the belly.  Now the frog is complete!

I created the background blending oxide inks in circular shapes all over heavy cardstock. I sprayed it with water and continued this until I liked the result. I let it dry and them used the teal color and splattered it over the cardfront in random areas. I stamped the Hooray sentiment from the “Hooray” clear stamp set which also comes with the coordinating die. I used heavy white cardstock and roughed up the edges. When the background was dry, I sized it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and then roughed up the edges. I glued it onto an A2 cardbase cut from the Key Lime Paper Pack.

I arranged the pieces and then stamped the “Wahoo” in black right under the right side of the “Hooray”. Then I glued the sentiment down and the lily pad. I popped up the frog and sat it right on the pad. I had the best time making this one! I love the beautiful background with the most handsome frog in the forefront. Until next time, have an “out of this world” kind of day!
