A Spooktacular Halloween Card with Ghostly Delights
Jyoti Adhikari

If you’re ready to dive into the spirit of Halloween with some crafty fun, then this card is sure to inspire! Featuring the 2024 Spooktacular collection from Poppystamps, I combined ghosts, pumpkins, and a spooky sky to create a scene that’s playful and eerie in all the right ways. Let’s take a look at how this Halloween card came together!

Die-Cut Fun: Pumpkins and Ghosts Galore

To kick things off, I reached for the Perky Pumpkins Craft Die and cut out a batch of pumpkins from orange cardstock. For my ghosts, the Gentle Ghosts Craft Die was the perfect choice—I used white cardstock for the main shapes and added some extra layers in black for a spooky contrast. Finally, I die cut the sentiment, ‘Happy Halloween,’ using the Lavish Happy Halloween Craft Die in bold black for a striking focal point.

Adding Dimensional Magic

To give the pumpkins some extra life, I added shading with COPIC markers in a darker orange tone. The ghosts got a touch of personality too, with a bit of warm gray shading to create dimension. A few highlights with a white gel pen gave everything a playful pop!

Creating the Spooky Sky

Next, it was time to set the scene. I reached for my Distress Oxide inks in Villainous Potion, Shaded Lilac, and Victorian Velvet to create a rich, spooky backdrop. Blending these colors together gave the perfect eerie vibe! I then trimmed the panel slightly smaller than an A2 card front using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Die for a finished edge.

Assembling the Haunting Scene

With all my pieces ready, it was time to bring the card together. I started by arranging the pumpkins along the bottom of my inked background. The ghosts were added next, floating in the spooky sky. To add even more Halloween magic, I stamped some fun elements using the Bugs and Kisses Stamp Set, giving the scene more depth. Finally, I adhered the ‘Happy Halloween’ sentiment at the top of the card.

Finishing Touches

Once everything was in place, I took a moment to admire how all the pieces came together. The pumpkins, the playful ghosts, and the spooky background all make for a hauntingly delightful Halloween card that’s full of character!

I hope you enjoyed the process of creating this card as much as I did! It’s a great way to celebrate the spookiest season of the year while using some of Poppystamps’ latest dies and stamps.
