Challenge Reminder: Fall Frolic
by Dana Kirby

Hi Friends! It is Dana here today with a reminder that you still have time to enter this month’s Poppy Challenge: Fall Frolic!

For my card today I started by creating my background. I used Yupo paper and Alcohol Pearl Ink in: Splendor, Deception, Alchemy and a little Gold Mixative. I just kept adding the inks with a little blending solution until I created my desired background.

Once my background was dry I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame Die.

Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Autumn Leaves stamp set onto a rectangle that I die cut from the Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame. I then die cut a few leaves from the Autumn Leaf Set to add as an accent to my sentiment.

I mounted my Autumn Leaves frame onto a piece of kraft cardstock. The alcohol ink had enough color and design that I wanted to keep my background fairly simple.

Lastly, I inlaid my sentiment back into my frame and then mounted my card panel onto a top folding A2 card base.

I hope I inspired you to play along with the challenge this month! You can find all of the details about the challenge Here. I can’t wait to see what you create!

  1. Hi Dana, I adore all these colours you have used on the yupo paper, beautiful autumnal colours, and a gorgeous card.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  2. Love this, Dana! I’ve yet to join the alcohol ink bandwagon, but I’m in love with your gorgeous results.

  3. I loved the whole ensemble, the background is really really nice using the inks and I think it pops up more rush just blending the inks. The autumn colors are really bright and the use of the gray cardstock helps accentuate the autumn leaves.. Really loved it
