Holiday Blog Blitz: Holly Frame
by Sue McRae

Hello crafty friends, Sue here with my first card for the Poppystamps design team! This is a perfect time to pop in for a visit because there’s a blog blitz going on with great Christmas prizes every day!

Today I’m featuring the new Holly Frame and Stencil set and it’s a beauty with a lot of detail going on around the frame, around the circular window and on the leaves.

I started by die cutting the frame from green fibre card stock, layering the stencil over it and applying some dark green ink with a blender brush for a soft contrast on the leaves.

Then I die cut the Delicate Poinsettias from red fibre card stock and decided to add a little sparkle to the petals. I took a finger dauber, tapped it into Versamark ink and lightly dabbed the edges of the flower petals. I sprinkled on some red glitter embossing powder and heat set. Now the flowers have a pretty glittery edge.

I also die cut the poinsettia from vellum, cut apart the petals and used them as leaves. For the sentiment I used Tidings of Joy stamp and die set and gold embossed the word Joy. This is a great little set of sentiments to have for Christmas cards.

For my assembled card I cut a piece of gold glitter card stock to place behind the holly panel and adhered everything together. I finished off by adding red Stickles around the frame and adding a jewel for the flower centre.
