Blog Blitz: Merry Christmas
by Dana Kirby

Hi there Poppy Friends! The Holiday Blog Blitz is continuing today, and I am showcasing the fun new Townhouses die set. I will have more information about how you can win this wonderful die set at the bottom of my post. Let’s get started with my card, shall we?

I started my card by ink blending Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers at the top of my card panel. I then die cut the Merry Christmas Flourish sentiment from white cardstock and attached it to the top of my card panel. I am creating a slim line card today. My card panel measures 3 x 8 inches with my overall card measuring 3.5 x 9 inches.

Next, I used the Stitched Hills die set and die cut my hills from white cardstock. I attached the hills to my card panel with foam adhesive so my ground/hills would have some dimension.

For my houses I used the Townhouses and Village Houses, and for my trees I used the Whittle Trees die sets . I die cut them from white cardstock and then used my Distress Oxide Ink sponges to add ink to the homes and tress. I didn’t add any fresh ink to my sponges, I just used the “left over” ink that was left on my sponges from another project. I find this works well for small die cuts and when I don’t want the color too intense.

I also added a small strip of yellow cardstock behind my houses for the light in the windows.

Next, I began adding my houses to my card front. I used both liquid glue and foam adhesive, keeping some houses flat while other are raised.

I also tucked in some Whittle Trees around my houses. I love how all of these dies work so well together to help build your scene.

To finish my card, I attached everything to my slim line card base. This is a fun card size to build a scene on and it can be mailed in a standard sized business envelope without any extra postage.

And now for the part you’ve been waiting for! You could win this gorgeous and versatile Townhouses die set!
