That Time of Year
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everyone!

We are so glad you could join us today! Over the next few weeks, in about 48 days or so, the BIG holiday will be here! Of course, we know all that hoopla isn't about a single day, but an entire season of madness and memories! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

Today, I am sharing, my "most wonderful" card of the day! I am very excited by how well this colorful CAS holiday card turned out! I planned on using the Stitched Alpine Snowflakes, the Whittle Rudolph, and the Pinpoint Ornament set, with the Art Deco Celebrate Christmas sentiment, but I couldn't decide on the colors! I kept going back and forth, unhappy with the results, until I reached into my box of YUPO paper scraps and backgrounds.

I have created Poppystamps cards using YUPO paper and alcohol inks earlier in the season, and I always save even the tiniest scraps! I cut the snowflake and ornament out of some red pieces, and cut the frame out of an unused piece I had done in coffee browns and caramels. The fun part about working with YUPO and alcohol inks is that you can create beautiful cards in a single color range, like a "red" background, or orange, or brown, or you can use a variety of inks to create brilliant rainbows of color! Once I decided on a color, I cut out the pieces I wanted in YUPO, and the Whittle Rudolph in warm brown and golden yellow cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Art Deco Celebrate Christmas clear stamp set, then assembled all of my festive cuts! For the finishing touch, I added a tiny red pearl on the nose!

Thank you all so much for joining us today, and enjoy your most wonderful time of the year!
